Interior design projects often involve tweaking an existing room to bring it up to date. The look of worn, boring, outdated elements can really get you down, and there’s no need to wait for a perfect time to do a full renovation. It’s even worse if the original finishes were poorly installed in the first place. The overall look of the kitchen, for instance, can be dramatically improved with a little or a lot of TLC. At Mulberry Interiors, we have many ideas which can make a big difference in the look of your home. Our capable tradespeople have the expertise to change out the counter top, add a new backsplash tile, sink, and faucet, change the floor tile, paint the walls, or what have you. For example, one home owner had a nice home with a kitchen that needed some updating. At the time of the design consultation it was decided that a kitchen facelift would be just the thing. We pointed out dated aspects of the kitchen that could be removed or changed and advised on what should be added in to bring things up to date. The existing backsplash had seen better days and was looking quite dated, and the floor tile was also showing signs of wear. It had been poorly installed and the grout was cracking due to levelling issues. We chose a new glass and stone mosaic tile for the backsplash, a co-ordinating grout color, and a new floor tile. All finishes were chosen in timeless neutrals as the homeowner was considering moving in the relatively near future. The floor tile was installed on a diagonal to add interest, and the new backsplash tile was installed vertically, just to look a little different from the everyday option. We chose a paint colour for the walls, and another for the wood trim throughout the home. Our capable tradespeople did all the work and the client was amazed at the transformation.
The overall liveability of the home was much improved, and it no longer had a tired, dated appearance. There is no need to be unhappy with your home.
